Mwelu Foundation provides workshops, mentorship, and hands-on training in photography, film production, and other media skills. Through this, youth develop both creative skills and practical career-oriented abilities.
Through photography and film, the young people in Mathare have a platform to share their experiences, perspectives, and stories, which are often overlooked or misunderstood. This storytelling also serves to bring awareness of the issues facing the Mathare community, such as poverty, lack of education, and health challenges.
The foundation supports children's education through scholarships, school supplies, and tutoring, helping them improve academically and stay in school.
Mwelu Foundation also focuses on nurturing creativity and improving the well-being of youth by providing a safe space to express themselves, connect with mentors, and explore their talents.
Mwelu foundation fouces on importance of educating the youth on consent and safe sex.
