At Mwelu Foundation, we believe in the power of storytelling through photography. Our recent Photography Session for Young Kids was a heartwarming and creative experience, introducing children to the art of capturing moments and expressing themselves through images.
What Happened During the Session? The session was designed to be both educational and fun, allowing young participants to:
✔ Learn the Basics of Photography – Understanding lighting, composition, and framing.
✔ Use Cameras for Hands-On Practice – Kids explored their surroundings, taking photos of nature, people, and daily life.
✔ Express Their Creativity – Encouraging storytelling through images, helping them build confidence in their artistic abilities.
✔ Receive Mentorship from Professionals – Our experienced photographers guided and inspired them.
Why Photography Matters for Kids?
Photography is more than just taking pictures—it helps children develop observation skills, creativity, and self-expression. Through this session, we aimed to nurture their artistic potential while giving them a platform to share their unique perspectives.
Impact and Feedback
The kids were thrilled with their newfound skills, and their excitement was evident in the beautiful images they captured. Many expressed interest in continuing to learn and explore photography as a hobby or even a future career.
What’s Next?
We plan to host more workshops, exhibitions, and mentorship programs to support young creatives. Stay tuned for upcoming sessions and ways you can get involved!
